- DistutilsOptionError is now documented as it's actually used, ie.
to indicate bogus option values (usually user options, eg. from
the command-line)
- added DistutilsSetupError to indicate errors that definitely arise
in the setup script
- got rid of DistutilsValueError, and changed all usage of it to
either DistutilsSetupError or ValueError as appropriate
- simplified a bunch of option get/set methods in Command and
Distribution classes -- just pass on AttributeError most of
the time, rather than turning it into something else

This directory contains only a subset of the Distutils, specifically the
Python modules in the 'distutils' and 'distutils.command' packages.
Technically, this is all you need to distribute and install Python modules
using the Distutils. Most people will want some documentation and other
help, though. Currently, everything can be found at the Distutils web page:
http://www.python.org/sigs/distutils-sig/
From there you can access the latest documentation, or download a standalone
Distutils release that includes all the code in this directory, plus
documentation, test scripts, examples, etc.
The Distutils documentation isn't yet part of the standard Python
documentation set, but will be soon.
